There’s A New Type Of Balayage And You’re Going To Want It

Ooooooh.

Cathy Donohue

The hair trends just keep on coming.

Earlier this week, we had snow lights and now people are freaking over layage, the style that’s likely to leave balayage for dust.

While balayage is a freestyle painting method, Look Magazine says layage is more controlled.

Similar to the fluid-painting hair trend that everyone was swooning over last year, layage involves hand painting colour onto a large flat board.

The results? Perfectly blended, soft natural colour that is ideal for spring summer 2016.

Creative Manager and Colour Expert at Charles Worthington Salon, Katie Allan, said: “The technique allows hair to achieve a natural gradient colour.

“This technique can be used for ombre or natural subtle highlights – it’s so versatile!

Our favourite thing about layage is the fact that it works for both brunettes and blondes: blondes can go lighter with their ends while brunettes can opt for a ombré type style.

We. Want. It.
