The Oldest And Cheapest Trick In The Book – Beauty’s Best Kept Secret Revealed

Still feeling puffy and bloated after all the festive cheer?

What do J Lo, Miranda Kerr and Heidi Klum all have in common? Successful careers? Amazing bodies? Perfect skin?

If you guessed any of the above you’d be correct but there’s also something else that links all three which also happens to be one of the best kept secrets in Hollywood – Epsom salts.

Not only do Epsom salts help reduce bloating and fluid retention, they also help draw out toxins which will reduce swelling, relax muscles after exercise and leave you feeling much lighter and leaner and did we mention a massive tub costs less than a fiver?

Here we show you how to make the most out of our favourite budget beauty buy.

Soak:

A bath is the easiest and most relaxing way to get the most from Epsom salt and is a great way to pamper yourself for less. Simply add one to two large scoops to a hot bath and soak for at least 20 minutes to get the most benefits.

Top tip: Earn extra pamper points and apply a super hydrating hair mask while you soak.

Just sit back and relax…

Scrub:

No matter how much you cleanse, tone and moisturise, sometimes skin needs a really good scrub to get rid of layers of dead skin cells. If you’re looking for a good exfoliator but your budget won’t stretch that far, take a tiny amount of Epsom salt and use it to gently exfoliate wet skin. Just be careful not to scrub too hard!

Shine:

If you’ve been overdosing on hairspray and other styling products over Christmas, there’s a good chance your hair is looking lank, limp and dull and your scalp probably isn’t in the best shape. An Epsom salt shampoo could just be what you’re looking for as will cleanse and clarify the hair shaft without causing damage. Mix a table spoon Epsom salt to water and lemon juice, apply to your hair for 20 minutes and then shampoo and condition as normal. We promise your hair will be noticeably smoother, soft and oh so shiny.
