The Important (And Surprising) Tip We Really Should Include When Cleansing Skin

It might take a bit more effort but the results are worth it!

January.

After the fun of the festive season, it can be a little difficult get back into work mode and the word ‘detox’ is completely wrecking your buzz.

That said, we’re going to do our best to get the odd gym session in and of course, eating healthily is a priority.

Unfortunately, skincare is one of those things that often gets neglected.

However, we’ve come across an expert tip from Byrdie and apparently, the ‘double-cleanse’ is the way forward.

We know what you’re thinking: it’s hard enough make time for one cleansing application not to mind two.

However, there are two reasons why you should consider giving it a go.

Firstly, the pre-cleanse gets rid of makeup and surface dirt allowing the next cleanse to get under the skin.

Secondly, double-cleansing action will soften the skin allowing any products you use to properly absorb into the skin.

Stressed Skin Christmas does bring stress to a lot of people. Money troubles, pressure to socialise and cooking for the family and more can certainly make you feel tense at this time of year. Stress can lead to skin issues. Take time to enjoy the season and relax. Let someone help you cook, be sure to take some time out and watch the stress melt away…

This will ensure you get the most from the skincare products you’re using and seeing as we want to get value for money, we’re on board with this.

Kate Kerr, a skin therapist based in Harley Street, previously spoke to The Daily Mail about why she encourages her clients to double cleanse.

“It’s not just about removing dirt and oil. It’s about softening the skin to make sure that anything you use subsequently is properly absorbed”.

Oil cleansers are having a moment of late and they’re really good for those who have dry skin.

However, if you’re prone to break-outs, Kerr recommends steering away from oil-based cleanser and using a cleansing milk and following with a gel cleanser.

Some prefer to use a skin brush as the second step and that’s entirely up to you and the type of skin you have.

We’ll have to give it a go…
