Have you always wanted to wear lipstick but just didn’t know where to start never mind how to put it on?
Well firstly you have to find a shade that suits your skin tone which can be tricky enough in itself but the general rule would be to try them out.

- First things first, apply moisturiser to your lips to ensure they are soft and supple. Not only will this make them feel soft but it will remove any dry skin and prep your lips ready for glamorising.
- Use your foundation as a base coat for your lipstick. Don’t put lots of it on but when you are applying your foundation, feel free to sweep your brush over your lips. This will help your lipstick last for longer.
- To apply your lipstick, use a lip brush. Not only does it give you more control but it also allows you to control how much lipstick goes onto your lips. Using a brush which you can later wash helps to avoid a build-up of germs as well.

- When you are applying your lipstick, do not put it on your inner lip. This is how it gets onto your front teeth which is not a good look. Keep to the outer parts of your lips but make sure that when your mouth is closed there are no patches that aren’t covered.
- Have eye makeup remover and a cotton bud nearby just in case something smudges or you accidentally put some lipstick on your face. If you do get some on your skin, use the cotton bud to remove it and sweep it inwards to avoid further smudging.
- There are a number of ways for you to finish off your lipstick look. You can either purse your lips down on a piece of toilet roll for a matte finish or shine them up with a touch of clear lip gloss.
