Following on from their fundraising successes of previous years, the Peter Mark team are once again grabbing their ghd’s, plugging in their hairdryers and manning their styling stations in a bid to raise much needed funds to help the Irish Hospice Foundation. The Petermarkathon fundraiser takes place this year over the October bank holiday weekend, October 25 – 28th at all Peter Mark salons nationwide.
Teams from Peter Mark across Ireland are set to host a flurry of exciting events over the October bank holiday weekend. With everything from a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, an in-salon fortune teller, a cake sale and blow dry Sunday’s, there are plenty of activities planned to help raise funds.
Speaking about the Petermarkathon, Sharon Foley, CEO of the Irish Hospice Foundation said, “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as the charity partner for the Petermarkathon. Support from companies like Peter Mark is hugely important to us. The IHF receives no core state funding so we rely on public support to raise the €5m required to fund our work each year. All the money raised over the October bank holiday will go towards our Nurses for Night Care service, which enables people with illnesses other than cancer to fulfil their wish to die at home”.
She continued, “I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Peter Mark and wish them every success for the Petermarkathon. Obviously none of this could happen without the support of the public so we would like to say a big thank you for all their support in helping the Irish Hospice Foundation make better end-of-life care, everywhere, a reality across Ireland.”
Peter O’Rourke, CEO, Peter Mark said, “We are always amazed at how supportive both our clients and our team are when it comes to initiatives like this. The extraordinary work of the Irish Hospice Foundation is humbling and we would encourage as many people to get involved in this year’s Petermarkathon fundraiser as possible”.
