Party Perfect: Hairstyle Inspiration For New Year’s Eve

Upstyle or loose locks... ?

Cathy Donohue

Party perfect hair can be hard to achieve, while a style might work out perfectly when you’re sitting at home… when it comes to the big night out, nothing goes to plan.

With that in mind, we have researched our favourite hairstyles and put some looks together in the above gallery. While all of the styles are glamorous they are also quite simple to achieve.

Steer away from anything too elaborate and fussy unless you’re a trained professional or a hair expert, the less stress involved the more likely things are to work out.

Kate Middleton -A low ponytail

This is a simple style but when you’ve got hair like the Duchess of Cambridge then you don’t have to work too hard to get it looking perfect. Use a shine reflecting shampoo and conditioner before blowdrying your hair. If possible invest in Moroccanoil or a similar hair oil for that gorgeous finish. Then simply pin it back with neutral hair grips or a loose hair tie…. relaxed chic.

Lea Michele – Tousled waves

Curls and waves are where it’s at this year… from the voluminous curly blow-dry to laid-back waves like Lea Michele. The most important tool here is a curling wand which will give you the hairstyle you want in a matter of minutes without any expensive trips to the hairdresser. Try the Babyliss Pro Curling Wand at Argos, €23.

Taylor Swift- Sleek and chic

After the release of the much-anticipated Great Gatsby film this year, fashion and beauty has been crushing on all things 1920s. From stunning embellished dresses to marcelled waves, it’s all so elegant and ladylike. Taylor Swift’s look here is just the right side of prim and proper… use some styling gel and the wand mentioned to achieve this look.

Cheryl Cole – Big blow-out

Big hair is always in style, as hair appears so healthy and vibrant when it’s voluminous. Seeing as Cheryl has been a L’Oreal girl, it’s no surprise that we have serious hair envy going on. Condition is very important here and a good hair dryer… if all fails and you can’t achieve the finish you want practically all salons offer curly blow-dries now. Party hair at its very  best.

Frankie Sandford – Change it up

Saturdays star Frankie is known for her gamine crop but the singer has been known to style it up on occasion. Frankie opted for long hair extensions at an event during the year and the different style really suited her. if you feel like you need a change, then extensions are extremely popular and available nationwide.

Cara Delevigne – Punk plaits

Model of the moment Cara has had a huge year and one of our favourite looks was when she attended the Met Gala earlier this year. Her dress was punk perfection, studs and layered chains galore. Not to mention that hair… Miss Deevigne opted for a relaxed yet intricate laid back plaited style. Simply straighten your hair as normal and add in a few side plaits, grungy cool sorted.
