Everyone loves a well-groomed man and we are no exception at Her.ie. The classic clean-cut will always be our favourite red carpet look but lately we’ve been questioning ourselves when it comes to long haired men. We’ve loved Brad Pitt for as long as we can remember and he has been supporting shoulder length golden locks for a while now. Maybe this ‘I could care less’ attitude to hair care is kind of sexy. Of course we don’t think Mr Pitt’s hair is as easily achieved as he would like to suggest. We’re sure Brangelina have recruited a top class colourist to their globetrotting entourage.
But Brad is not the only one donning this style in the past few months with other desirables like James Franco and Chris Hemsworth joining the unkempt cult, too. Who can forget about Russell Brand and Johnny Depp who have been supporters of lusciously long locks for years?

Long time advocate of long hair: Johnny Depp
We don’t really know what to make of it all, really. We can’t say Brad looks better now than he did in Fight Club or that we prefer this new ponytailed Chris Hemsworth to the chopped up blonde hunk we fell in love with way back in his Home and Away days.

Long hair and gorgeous: Chris Hemsworth
We are having trouble picturing our other halves ditching the two-in-one shampoo and conditioner for Kérastase’s best and the idea of watching a man blow-dry his hair in our mirror is quite unnerving. Finding stray hairpins in your drawers is a difficult enough task without competing with your boyfriend and we dread to imagine how inadequate we would feel if our men had nicer hair than us. The horror!
We have come to the conclusion that gentlemen donning long conditioned manes are not for us even if they are from Hollywood. It’s a total nay from us on the longhaired thing. Please chop it off guys! Sincerely yours, Her.ie.
