It Turns Our Dry Shampoo Can Have Some Pretty Harsh Effects

Say it isn't so!

Cathy Donohue

Dry shampoo has rescued many a bad hair day as it’s the perfect quick fix when you haven’t time to wash your locks.

However, it seems the wonder product could have some rather unwanted side effects, according to beauty pros.

It can dull your hair colour, cause product build-up and if you rely on it too heavily, it can damage your scalp over time.

WAIT – what?!

Speaking to Refinery 29, celebrity hair colourist Ritz Hazan explained why the product can leave your hair looking lacklustre: “Dry shampoo visibly dulls the hair.

“Formulas are usually made from aluminum starch or corn starch, which appear matte. This makes the color in your hair look less shiny and healthy”.

NOT what you want when you’ve just had your hurr done and your colour is perfectly shiny.

With that in mind, we might have to ease back on the cult beauty classic – forget the extra ten minutes in bed in the morning – SOB.
