Not to be dramatic, but the invention of dry shampoo was literally life-changing.
However, those bottles of Batiste cost a pretty penny when you add it all up.
Realistically speaking, there is no excuse not to make our own – particularly when we probably already have all of the ingredients in our cupboard.
Here’s how to do it.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons baking soda
5 drops of essential oil (our preferred scent is lavender).
An old makeup brush
Instructions
Simply mix it all together and store in an old jar. Use the makeup brush to dip in and apply to the roots whenever you need a freshening up.
Top Tip
If you have dark hair, do what the smart folk at Wellness Mama do and simply substitute two tablespoons of baking powder for cocoa powder and away you go.
The benefits of using a homemade dry shampoo are endless – not only is it easier on the purse, but you are also avoiding any nasty chemicals that may be lurking in store-bought products.
