Budget-Busting, Splash The Cash Or DIY: Treat Your Feet With A Soak

Aaaand relax.

Nothing makes you feel more pampered than a nice set of tootsies, ready to show off for the summer season.

Yes, even if it is just sitting on the local beach in a hoodie, there’s always a chance to show off your fantastic-looking feet…

Our feet get an awful battering for a total of ten months during the year. They are shoved from one warm boot to another, one sweaty runner to the next and all the while we neglect them of a little necessary pampering.

How often do you soak your feet during the winter months?

Don’t worry, there is still time to get them sorted for the summer months. Your feet shall be shown off on the Costa this season!

How To Create A Softening Soak:

1. Budget-Busting:

Strip your toes of the layers of nail varnish that have been gathering since that Christmas night out.

Pour a capful of salt-based foot soak, like Hoof Foat Soak (Boots, €8.16), into a basin of warm water and submerge your feet for 10 minutes.

The salt will soften your skin and cuticles and the warm water should relax your feet.

2. Splash The Cash:

If you have a bit of cash to splash why not experience the “transformative wellness” of the South African salts by Kerstin Florain. Mineral Wellness Soak contains a perfect, rare balance of over 60 essential minerals and trace elements to “deeply nourish, detoxify and rebalance the body”. Sounds good…

It’s available online here for about €31, not including postage.

3. Do It Yourself:

Alternatively, if you want to put your DIY foot soak skills to the test, why not try this recipe?

Squeeze lemon juice into the bucket with half a cup of sea salt and three tablespoons of ground ginger.

A drop of rosemary oil can do wonders as it has anti-fungal properties.

Kick back and let your feet soak.
