Three new buys to try this week...

Rebecca McKnight

It’s a serious perk of the job here at Her.ie towers that we get to try and test some of the latest and greatest beauty releases and call it work. Lucky us. Here is a heads up on three products that got a communal thumbs up from the team in the week that was…

Fibrology Hair Care, from €5,84, L’Oréal

The great thing about buying from L’Oréal, a relatively inexpensive beauty brand, is that their products are one of the best examples of the trickle down effect. L’Oréal own some of the biggest names in luxury beauty, so the money spent on research and expertise filters down through all brands in the stable. This new line, though, got some pretty in-depth research all on its own merit. According to research, over 40% of women struggle with fine hair that lacks volume, and refuses to hold style. L’Oréal Paris have now claimed to come up with a solution to all three of these issues and as a result have created the Elvive Fibrology Thickening haircare range. Designed to enhance the hair fibre from within, scientific tests have proven that these products increase the diameter of the fibre with every wash. The effect is not permanent and you need to keep using the products to maintain the increased volume in the fibre, but at only €5.84 for the shampoo and conditioner, it’s easy on your pocket and excellent on your hair. For an added boost you can opt for the  Thickness Booster, €9.19, and for a treat for your tresses you can try the Intensive Texturising Masque, €8.49.

Rosaliac CC Cream, €22.50, La Roche Posay

ROSALIAC CC CREAM

La Roche Posay is a Godsend beauty brand for those of us with sensitive skin. In a new breakthrough aimed at the two out of three women who admit to being concerned with facial skin redness, they have now released the first daily SPF 30 CC care for sensitive skin. That’s quite a mouthful, so they’re calling it Rosaliac CC Cream instead. Designed to cover redness and correct colour flaws, 80 per cent of women who tried the product reported a boost in self-confidence while wearing it. Weather conditions, stress and alcohol can all contribute to skin redness, but Ambophenol, the star ingredient in Rosaliac CC, is anti-inflammatory, offers vascular protection, is an anti-oxidant and works to regulate anti-microbial peptide protection. Rosaliac CC comes in a universal tone that suits fair to medium skin.

Moroccan Rose Otto Body Oil, €40, REN

Rose Body Oil

In these arctic conditions, body oils are a wonderful way to keep your skin soft and smooth, locking in essential moisture. This divine offering from REN includes ceramides from carthame oil and phospholipids from soybean along with essential fatty acids from seabuckthorn berry oil and argan oil all help to restore softness, elasticity and comfort. Tocotrienols from cranberry seed oil protect the skin against oxidative damage and premature aging. A little goes a long way, so don’t worry, you’ll get plenty bang for your buck.
