Fashion month happens twice a year and I’m totally and utterly obsessed.
February is all about autumn winter (confusing much) with major shows taking place in New York, London, Milan and Paris and then in October, it’s all about spring summer, (yep very confusing), in the world’s style capitals.
This season, New York and London fashion weeks showcased some cool trends, statement earrings and ruffled everything naturally, but it’s the hair that I’m properly crushing on.
Big. Shiny. Voluminous. Bouncy.
It’s all about healthy hair for SS17 and the below imagery will give you major inspiration.
Anna Sui – New York Fashion Week
Sixties style beehives were the order of the day here, fitting perfectly with the kaleidoscope of prints and patterns.
Models paraded down the runway dressed in floral tea dresses, suede fringed jackets and cropped co-ords resulting in a playful, fun and entirely wearable collection.
Just look at their lovely long locks though, serious hair goals.
Topshop Unique – London Fashion Week
The Topshop Unique show is always a major highlight of LFW and this season marked the first time you could buy pieces straight after they were showcased on the catwalk.
Voluminous hair was also the order of the day here with models sporting wavy bedhead locks.
This look is easier achieve than the beehive above, simply choose a shampoo and conditioner aimed at big hair (we’re fans of the TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume range), blast dry your hair and then put it in plaits.
If possible, leave the plaits in overnight and when you wake up, just run a texturising creme through your locks and your waves are good to go.
Reem Acra – New York Fashion Week
Lebanese designer Reem Acra is one of my faves because her pieces are simply stunning.
Feminine and flattering, this new collection is another winner and I’m in love with both the designs and the hair. Just LOOK at the hair.
Again, big bouncy curls were key here, with curly up styles and pretty ponytails proving popular.
There’s a clear theme emerging here and that is that voluminous hair is going absolutely nowhere for the season ahead.
