Top tips for Brunettes

Research shows that brunette has long since been the easiest hair colour to manage. With proper maintenance brunette locks can look shinier and more vibrant for longer. Here we have top tips for all you brunettes out there looking to give your hair the manageability and nutrition it needs:

1.     Choosing a Brown

Choosing a brown that will suit your skin tone is the most important factor. Establish with your colourist whether to opt for a cool brown or warm brown.

2.     Add Highlights

Adding a few highlights underneath the hair will give it texture and multi tonal colour breaking up all over brunette. The technique used here is Sombre, which is big this season giving the hair a softer and more natural feel than previous seasons.

3.     The Brunette Wonder Product

Chroma Captive Colour Boosters by L’Oreal have been hailed as the hair angel for brunettes. This is an in-salon service that can be applied to the hair when you feel it flat and lacks shine. This treatment will last for up to 10 shampoos and is recommended for those who live in more hard water areas. Home maintenance as always is extremely important, try Inecto Shine Enhance Glossing Spray (€5.07) for added shimmer or if you need that extra hold and a better shine than a gloss product, try Kevin Murphy Session Spray(€25).

4.     Our Fave Celeb Brunette

Miss Posh Becks is our favourite celebrity brunette. Victoria Beckham’s hair is a prime example of when Sombre can enhance the skin tone giving it a rich and shiny tone and allows it to always look in good condition.

5.     Hottest Style for Brunettes This Season

Opt for cool icy browns this season which suit warmer skin tones. Sombre is also really big hailing from Ombre which we had last season. This gives a hair a softer and more natural look.
