There’s nothing worse than a bad hair day, eh ladies?
Stop washing your hair: Wait now, we don’t mean ditch the shampoo altogether, we just mean stop washing it as much as you currently do. You see our hair is full of natural oils that are actually brilliant at fighting frizz by themselves. If we wash our hair every day, we accidentally end up washing all these frizz tamers out!
If you lather up every single day, switch to washing your hair every second day and see what happens. We guarantee you’ll have more manageable, non-frizzy hair before you can say “rinse, repeat!” If your hair feels greasy in between washes, simply use a bit of dry shampoo to tide you over.
It’s all about condition: Hair experts recommend using a deep conditioner every time you wash your hair. Wash your hair with shampoo as you normally would, then apply the conditioner and leave it to soak into your hair for at least five minutes. Frizzy hair is generally the result of dry hair that sucks up moisture in the air. A deep conditioner coats your hair and makes it harder for the moisture to play havoc with your do.
Don’t be rough: Instead of rubbing the head off yourself with a towel when you get out of the shower, use the towel to pat dry your hair. Vigorous towel drying can actually cause your hair to stand up, making it look frizzy. Be gentle!
Hot oil is your friend: Do a weekly hot hair oil treatment. These oils are light enough so they won’t weigh your hair down, but they will strengthen and nourish your strands, making sure they don’t frizz out. Apply the oil to the ends of your hair and only put a very light layer on the top of your head – you don’t want your hair to look greasy.
Use a finishing spray: After you’ve styled your hair, use a finishing spray or a shine spray. This spray will help to catch any flyaways and make them stick to the rest of your hair. The result is a smoother, shiner mane.
