She celebrated her 60th birthday during the week and Oprah has been on our screens for the past 30 years so, of course, we were going to feature Oprah as our girl of the week. We feel the same way Liz Lemon feels about her.
Here are eleven reasons we love and adore Oprah Winfrey…
1. Who looks this good at 60? Oprah. That’s who.
Yes. 60.
2. She’s a pretty damn good actress.
Oprah picked up an Oscar for her performance in The Color Purple and it was entirely deserved.
3. That Armstrong interview.
Over the years, Oprah has interviewed just about everybody, but that Lance Armstrong interview was fascinating. And she still did give him a bit of a hard time.

4. She’s pretty generous!
Seems like she might be giving more away than the Late Late Show anyway!
5. She did a pretty good job of not looking terribly confused while Tom Cruise jumped on her couch.
How did she manage to not say “could you please just leave?”
6. She’s considerate of people.
Yes, she’s a talk show host but Oprah knows when enough is enough. She once pulled an interview with a mass murderer and the families who were affected by him because she didn’t think any good could come of it.
7. She’s a real person.
Once during an interview, Oprah broke down crying because the details of the abuse one woman suffered were very intense.
8. Those quotes.
Oprah has a quote for everything and they’re all absolutely brilliant.
Real integrity is doing the right thing, knowing that nobody’s going to know whether you did it or not.
9. The Book Club
Oprah loves books but the fact that she has managed to pass this love on is pretty amazing.
10. She talks about things that matter.
Oprah has a Life Class, an interview that sets an example, teaches a lesson or helps support someone who might be going through the same thing. They are both heartbreaking and inspiring.
11. She’s one funny lady.
Yes, she can be incredibly serious but Oprah knows how to have a laugh too…
