It has been revealed Stephen Merchant’s Hello Ladies and Christopher Guest’s Family Tree will not be returning to HBO.

Merchant’s comedy show, starred the comedian looking for love in LA, and though cancelled, the show will see a one-off special. The airdate has yet to be announced.

The programme was created from his stand-up act in collaboration with The Office’s Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky but was met with mixed responses.

Guest and Jim Piddock’s Family Tree had Chris O’Dowd in a leading role, as an Englishman exploring his heritage in America.

Family Tree was praised by many critics but failed to get good viewership at HBO.
