The mother of Mikaeel Kular has been charged with the murder of her son during an appearance at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
33-year-old Rosdeep, charged under her married name of Adekoya according to BBC news, has also been charged with attempting to pervert the ends of justice and has been remanded in custody.
The case was continued for further examination, with another court appearance expected on 28 January.
Mikaeel’s mother reported him missing from his home in Ferry Gait Crescent, Edinburgh last Thursday prompting a major search.
His body was found 20 miles away in an area of woodland behind a house in Dunvegan Avenue, Kirkcaldy late on Friday night.

The discovery followed an extensive police search which was assisted by members of the public and in addition over 500 calls were made to a dedicated phoneline set up to help find the little boy.
Police Scotland said on Saturday night that a 33-year-old woman had been arrested and charged in connection with the boy’s death.
Assistant Chief Constable Malcolm Graham said: “Following formal identification, I can now confirm that a 33-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with Mikaeel’s death.
“The woman is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.”
