Treasure in the Attic? Vintage Designer Handbags Unearthed at Dublin Jewellers

If only we could unearth some forgotten treasure like this...

Rebecca McKnight

We’ve heard of treasure in the attic, but this is something else…

In the 1980s and 1990s Dublin landmark jewellers Weir & Sons sold designer handbags as well gold, silver and diamond pieces we know and love. Recently while clearing out some stockrooms, staff found a number of boxes hidden away. When opened, a treasure trove of unsold designer handbags by brands such as Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent was unveiled. Other brands include Louis Feraud and Charles Jourden, Dunhill, and Glomesh.

When we find an old forgotten box while cleaning up the house, it’s usually full of old copies of Sweet Valley High and Babysitter’s Club books. Life is not fair.

Prices of these vintage beauties range from €50 to €200, and they are available from Weir & Sons Grafton Street store while stocks last.
