Forget Those Golden Statues, Here Are Our Favourite Famous Oscars

It's Oscar Season so we thought we'd remember some of our favourite men that share the same name.

Earlier today film buffs around the globe were sat on the edge of their seat awaiting to hear the 2014 nominations for the Oscars.

This year’s nominations aren’t that much of a surprise, however our resident movie critic is a little devastated that Emma Thompson didn’t get a nod for Saving Mr Banks, or the late James Gandolfini for Enough Said, but overall they rolled out how we expected them to.

Oscar seasons will dominate the headlines now for the next few weeks and we thought we’d give the golden statue a miss and remember some of our favourite famous men that share the same name.

Oscar Peterson

One of the greatest jazz pianists of all time, Oscar, nicknamed the Maharaja of the keyboard sadly passed away in 2007.

The Canadian left behind some fantastic live footage and wonderful compositions.

What the jazz? This. This is the jazz. Amazing.

Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta at his fashion show at Neiman Marcus- Chevy C

This fashion genius is loved by one or two member of the Her.ie team more than the rest.

Not only is De La Renta one of the most renowned fashion designers in the world, he also gives fantastic advice to ladies.

Our favourite quote: “Walk like you have three men walking behind you.” If you say so, Oscar.

Oscar Isaac

Not only is Oscar a talented actor, but he also has a voice to match that dreamy face.

Oscar Dela Hoy

American Olympic champion Oscar dela hoya. (We prefer Oscar dela howiya)

American Olympic champion boxer, Oscar Dela Hoya…

OSCAR DE LA HOYA

Or as we prefer to call him, Oscar De le howiya. Too easy.

Oscar the Grouch

Our favourite guy on the street.

Golden Globes last week, Oscars this week. All of these awards make us feel a little like this…

Oliver Wilde

Oscar Fingal O’Flahertie Wills Wilde, one of the most famous Irish men in history, and our favourite Oscar, (just don’t tell the others).

The Dublin writer and poet is known far and wide for his incredible literary work and quotes.
