The inevitable has happened, you have run into that guy you spent about three years of your life with, but you’re totally over it. Or are you? Here are eleven signs you may still be in love with your ex…
1. You still look out for him at the obvious places.
This is always where we used to go together, surely I’ll find him here? If I just stay here for about two hours this will happen. Maybe this isn’t the best idea I’ve had.
2. Actually, you see him everywhere.
Even if you didn’t go to the obvious places, you still THINK you see him everywhere. That guy in the post office looked a bit like him and that guy over there has his hair… Ah look, I’m going home.
3. You read over old messages.
You constantly check through your phone at all of the old messages you sent each other. Well, not constantly, but enough to make you wonder why you still check through your phone. Oh my god, do you remember that ice-cream joke? No. You had to be there.
4. You CONSTANTLY check his Facebook.
We’re not sure at what point we would classify this as stalking but you’re certainly spending an unhealthy amount of time on his Facebook page. Mainly looking through pictures, mainly trying to figure out who that new girl is…
5. You instantly hate his new girlfriend.
Then the inevitable happens, he moves on. He has posted to his wall that he is “in a relationship” but you haven’t quite figured out with you yet. But you will. You just have to sit here for the next few days updating the page to find out who she is… Oh her? I don’t like her already. (You have never met her)
6. You compare every guy to him on a night out.
“Well, no, like he’s just not as funny as Shane, is he?” NO ONE WILL EVER BE!
7. You listen to songs and watch films that you would have watched together.
He really loved Top Gun, I watch it all the time now. It’s really a hard-hitting character drama.
8. You still wear that hoodie he gave you.
He may have asked for it back but there’s no way he’s getting it… It’s the one thing you got from the relationship and you like having him around. IT. You like having it around. The hoodie. You like the hoodie.
9. Motivational quotes.
You can’t seem to help it lately but you constantly post motivational quotes for getting over relationships. God, you are even annoying yourself at this point. Who writes these things?!
10. You update your Facebook with things only he will understand.
“It’s such a lovely walk around that park…” The park we used to walk TOGETHER!
11. You secretly hold out hope that you will get back together.
One day it will happen. One day.
Realistically, it probably won’t by the way.
