American Horror Story: Coven actress Gabourey Sidibe suffered cruel jibes about her plus-size figure when walking the red carpet at Monday night’s Golden Globes ceremony.
Comments criticising Sidibe, whose performance in 2009 film Precious earned her an Oscar nomination, were posted on social-networking site Twitter.
The actress had a brilliant response for those criticising her weight
Bye!!! She looks like a condom,’ one person wrote on Twitter.
‘Geez! She looks like the chubby ghost from Casper,’ chimed in another.
However, the 30-year-old actress had a pretty brilliant response for those who didn’t like how she looked at the Golden Globes.
‘To people making mean comments about my GG pics, I mos def cried about it on that private jet on my way to my dream job last night [sic]. #JK’ , Gabourey tweeted.
While speaking at the Women In Entertainment Symposium in 2012, the actress said, ” When I was 21 or 22 I just decided that life wasn’t worth living if I wasn’t happy with myself so I just took all the steps that I could to figure out how to love myself and become confident.”
However she also admitted that things can get tough at times, ‘I get shaken a lot, especially being in this business.’
