We’re big fans of coffee here at Her.ie towers and when we spotted this glorious recipe for an alternative Irish coffee, we had to give it a go.
This tasty coffee combines orange with chocolate and we have to say, it’s a delicious mix.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
- 20ml of Cointreau or orange liqueur
- A good-sized blob of single cream whipped lightly
- A pot of coffee (for one Irish coffee or more)
- A square of dark chocolate with orange (Lindt works well)
Now you’re only eight simple steps away from the perfect Irish coffee:
- Heat your glass by rinsing it with some hot water.
- Add your liqueur and the sugar.
- Put a little hot coffee in to the glass and stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Once it is dissolved, add the remaining coffee and stir again. **Allow around half an inch at the top of the glass for the cream.
- Pour the lightly whipped cream over the back of a spoon until it reaches the top of the glass.
- To decorate, grate some of the chocolate with orange over the top of the coffee.
- Sit back, and enjoy.
