And The Winner Is… Eleven Things We Have Learned From The Golden Globes

Sue Murphy

Tonight, some of the most talented celebrities will make appearances on the red carpet and win various awards for their outstanding work. We love the Golden Globes, we have learned so much from them. Here are just eleven of these things.

1. The Globes are way more fun than the Oscars

Everyone is certainly more drunk.

2. Tommy Lee Jones does not like people.

Or cameras, or Will Ferrell, or anything really…

3. Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are the best hosts ever

This is the proof.

4. There are way more categories.

Which means twice the fun really…

5. You don’t get hugs, you get high fives.

From Daniel Craig no less!

6. People are allowed to give better speeches.

Without being played off the stage by THAT music.

7. Actually, the speeches are better in general.

Take Emma Thompson for example.

8. They let the TV people in.

It’s not just films you know, the TV stars get some awards too. They are often film people.

9. You don’t have to be able to sing and dance.

No, just relax, eat and have a good time.

10. They allow the laughs.

The Oscars are a fairly serious affair, but the Globes have nominations in musical and comedy which just makes everything that little better.

11. Take more chances.

Yes, it is now a pretty successful awards ceremony but the Globes take a few more chances than the Oscars. Case in point, Ricky Gervais. Twice.
