The Walking Dead will see some similarities with its first season says TV executive Greg Nicotero.
Speaking to Channel Guide Magazine, Nicotero said that season four “harkens back to the first season”.
“If you think about season two, they were on Hershel’s farm and in season three and half of season four, they had the prison and Woodbury.
“So this is the first time that they’re out in the world again. It’s the first time that we really get that sense of how big the world is and how unprotected people are in the wilderness.”

Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) from season one
“It’s probably the closest adaptation to two issues of the comic book that we’ve ever done,” he continued.
“I’m dying for people to see the next eight episodes because there’s so much good stuff.”
The TV exec said the most exciting part of the whole project was the amount of “creative freedom” that he was allowed to pitch and bring to the series.
The Walking Dead is currently on a break following their mid-season finale back in December. It will be back in February.
