The British town of Kings Langley is to pay tribute to the TV series Game of Thrones by renaming their town to King’s Landing this February.
King’s Landing is the capital city in HBO’s Game of Thrones and the name-change will coincide with the series DVD release on February 18th.
The town is northwest of London, and according to the Radio Times, it will be getting a makeover in the next few weeks with GoT themed events during the special week of celebration.
The report notes that “a producer for the hit HBO show heard the town listed as a stop while waiting for a train at London’s Euston station and was inspired to instigate the name change.”

“We have another royal wedding, this one is not red; this one is a different color,” author George R.R. Martin told E! News of season four.
“We have the introduction of some great new characters. We finally introduce one of the most popular characters from the books: Prince Oberon Martell. The Red Viper of Dorne will be introduced for the first time and there will be some other new characters that I think the fans will like.”
It’s expected that the fourth season of the show will be aired just before the DVD release. Game of Thrones is based on George R.R. Martin’s epic fantasy book series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
