Over 4.6 million users of photo messaging application Snapchat have had their details downloaded by hackers.
The details were briefly posted online, via website SnapchatDB, with hackers showing all but the last two digits.
A cached version of the now offline site is still available.
The hack came just days after Snapchat was called out by Australian firm Gibson Security for ‘vulnerabilities’ in the app.
Snapchat has become immensely popular in the past number of months as an app that allows users to share pictures, which are then deleted automatically mere seconds after they are viewed.
In November, reports emerged that Snapchat owners had turned down a $3 billion acquisition offer from Facebook.
