Iron Man 3 has been named the highest grossing movie of 2013.
The third installment in the series, starring Robert Downey Jr as the playboy billionaire-come-superhero, pulled in over $1.2 billion in the worldwide box office this year.
Iron Man’s box-office pull now tallies at a whopping $3.8 million when you include The Avengers, higher than three incarnations of Batman and four of Spiderman.
Iron Man 3 faced stiff competition this year from several other sequels, most notably Despicable Me 2 and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
