There are so many films on over the Christmas period that we thought we might help you out and pick some of the best from across the important days. Mainly the days that you will be at home and stuck in front of a television screen. Here are some of our favourites.
1. It’s A Wonderful Life, Channel 4, 1.10pm
It’s one of our essential Christmas films and it really is one that you need to watch absolutely every single year. The story revolves around an angel who shows a businessman what life would have been like if he didn’t exist. Get the tissues in for this one!
2. Guys and Dolls, BBC2. 1.50pm.
You need to watch this for Marlon Brando alone. However, besides that Guys and Dolls is just a wonderful story with some brilliant tunes. An absolute classic.

3. Raiders of the Lost Ark, RTE1, 3,45pm
You can’t really go wrong with a bit of Indiana Jones over Christmas. In this adventure, Indy is hired to find the Ark of the Covenant for the US government before the Nazis. Normal everyday stuff really. This is a must for most Indy fans, if you haven’t caught it before, it’s a must.
4. Hook, Sky Movies Family, 4pm
Who doesn’t want to return to Neverland? We certainly do! Peter Pan returns to get his children back after they have been kidnapped by Captain Hook.
5. Finding Nemo, BBC1, 5.55pm
Most of you will have already seen the wonderful Finding Nemo, but if you haven’t, there really isn’t a better time to watching the joy that is this film. Marlon travels the ocean to find his lost son Nemo and encounters quite the adventure along the way.
6. Miracle on 34th Street, Sky Christmas, 6pm
A little girl who doesn’t really believe in Santa Claus finds out that dreams really do come true if you just believe. And boy, do we believe in the Christmas power of Miracle on 34th Street.

7. Elf, Sky Movies Comedy, 7.20pm
Santa’s coming! I KNOW HIM! Well, we know Elf and we have no problem watching it again and again and again. Who needs an excuse?
8. Oz, Sky Premiere, 9pm
The big new release for Christmas this year is an earlier working of the Oz story starring James Franco, the brilliant Mila Kunis and Michelle Williams.
9. Die Hard 2, E4, 9pm
Bruce Willis is back and he’s going to die hard much harder than before. This time McClane must avert a disaster at Dulles International Airport. An absolute Christmas classic and no better man.
10. Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Film 4, 11pm
Although this is more of a Thanksgiving film, there are parts of this that will speak to a lot of people. Planes tells the story of a man who tries everything to get home from Thanksgiving. Starring the wonderful John Candy, where could you go wrong?
