What with all of the Anchorman talk going around the last couple of weeks and with that amazing visit from the cast to Dublin, we thought we would go back to where it all began, the classic of 2004 and arguably one of the greatest comedies ever, Anchorman: the Legend of Ron Burgundy.
A film that did moderately well at the box office, Anchorman’s success truly lay in the cult following that came after the DVD release and those all-important quotes that were thrown around constantly by the fans.

The Legend of Ron Burgundy introduced us to the greatest anchorman of all time and the team of friends, and co-workers, that kept him going. However, when a new female news reporter begins working at Channel 4, everything starts to go wrong for Ron.
What really worked for Anchorman was that irreplaceable script and some brilliant actors who just abandoned themselves to their roles. The film itself is constantly voted on to lists of the greatest comedies of all time.
So get the food in, curl up in the blanket and lose yourself to the Pleasuretown that is Anchorman. Yes, we went there.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy will air on RTE 2 this Friday at 9.30. Tape the Late Late Show. This may be a tough decision.
