When Eldad Hagar first saw Miley, an abandoned dog living in a skip on the outskirts of Los Angeles, his heart went out to the forlorn animal.
“When I got there, I almost couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” Eldad the co-founder of animal rescue organization Hope For Paws, told The Huffington Post of his first encounter with Miley. “It’s almost as if this place was struck by a tsunami.”
Miley, covered in mange and infections, was so weary that she “didn’t even have the energy” to run away from him as he approached her.
A local resident had told Eldad about Miley and so, he made it his mission to save her.
“She was very lucky we rescued her when we did, because her condition would have continued to deteriorate until she would have died a miserable and painful death,” he said.
Miley has since gone on to make a remarkable recovery, one reason for this was befriending chihuahua Frankie who was rescued from a sewer tunnel.
The two are steadfast friends and it is heartwarming to see their relationship in the video below.
