Oscar-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden has joined the cast of Fifty Shades of Grey. The actress will be playing Christian Grey’s mother.
Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey is the adoptive pediatrician mother of billionaire Christian (Jamie Dornan). She adopted Christian when his birth mother died.
It was also announced this week that singer Rita Ora has also joined the cast as Grace’s daughter and Christian’s sister, Mia.
Marcia won a “Best Supporting Actress” Academy Award for her portrayal of Lee Krasner in Pollock, and is currently starring in Aaron Sorkin’s HBO show, The Newsroom, and ABC’s, Trophy Wife.
Fifty Shades of Grey will be released in 2015, on Valentine’s weekend.
