Christmas is a fun time for year for many reasons, one of which is the socialising.
As enjoyable as this is, no one enjoys the wardrobe dilemmas that follow when trying to find a different outfit for every occasion.
There’s the annual Christmas party which kicks off the party season, there’s dinner and very often drinks to catch up with friends, Christmas Day calls for casual cosy style and there’s New Year too.
If you invest in separates that can be mixed and matched with clothes you already have, choosing outfits will become easier.
For example you may have a winter coat you love from last year, that can be worn again this year teamed with black biker leggings and a statement choker to bring it up to date.
Or if you have a reliable favourite dress, you can transform it with a pair of patterned tights.
Black ankle boots, a structured dress in a block colour (burgundy is a gorgeous winter shade), a good quality winter coat in a neutral shade so it can be matched up easily (camel is our recommendation), a white blouse and either black skinny jeans or a black skater skirt depending on your choice.
These five pieces will get you through the Christmas season, the white blouse can be worn with the skirt/skinnies plus it can be worn with items you already have.
A structured dress will give you body confidence, even if you have overindulged over Christmas (which most of us will, it’s mandatory). It can be worn with tights during winter, and without once spring hits.
Ankle boots, particularly when in black, will be worn all year round considering that it’s Ireland and rain is never too far away. When you’re guaranteed to get value for money, they really are a must have.
For the same reason, a good winter coat is a necessity. Neutral is best as you can team it with most colours, prints and patterns.
A capsule wardrobe such as this should make your festive style that bit easier.
