Vinnie Jones has revealed that both he and his wife are battling skin cancer.
The footballer-turned-film-star apparently found a lump under his eye back in February which turned out to be a melanoma and was later removed.
After that surgery more growths were found, the third of which was removed from the back of his head only a matter of months ago. He is now being monitored closely by doctors in Los Angeles.
The 48-year-old told The Sun newspaper: “Cancer is a horrible word to hear. I’ve faced the biggest and ugliest lads on the football field and been in some nasty brawls. But this is my toughest and scariest opponent yet.”
During the interview Vinnie revealed that his wife Tanya has also had a number of tumours removed. According to reports her skin cancer is thought to be a side effect of the medication she took following a heart transplant over 20 years ago.
Earlier this week Hugh Jackman spoke out about his experience of skin cancer. The Wolverine star underwent treatment recently after going to the doctor to get a mark on his nose checked.
