Another One? Producer Has Spoken About A Second ‘Hardcore’ Fifty Shades Of Grey Film

Cathy Donohue

A more ‘explicit’ version of the Fifty Shades Of Grey movie could be released alongside the cinema-friendly original, the producer Collider Dana Brunetti has said.

He admitted that while the film would almost certainly be R-rated in the US – meaning no-one under 17 can see it without an adult – there was demand among fans for a more ‘hardcore’ version with the adults only NC-17 rating.

‘This is just my opinion and this doesn’t mean this is going to happen, but I always thought it would be really cool if we released the R version and then we had an NC-17 version that we released a few weeks later,’ the producer explained.

‘So if people really wanted to see it again and get a little bit more gritty with it then have that NC-17 version out there as well. It’d be great for the studio too because they’d get a double dip on the box office.’

Dakota Johnson is to play Anastasia Steele in the film

Brunetti went on to say: ‘What we’re kind of hearing from the fans is they want it dirty, they want it as close as possible to the book.

‘We want to keep it elevated but also give the fans what they want.’

Fifty Shades Of Grey – which was originally due for release in August 2014 – is now set to open over the 2015 Valentine’s Day weekend.

It stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele and our very own Jamie Dornan as the male lead, S&M fetishist Christian Grey.
