French actor Jean Dujardin has split with his wife Alaxandra Lamy, it has been reported. The actor, famed for his performance in the Oscar-winning film The Artist, had been married for four years.
“It has been eight months that tabloids have been trying to make me out as depressed, an alcoholic, a womanizer,” Dujardin is said to have told reporters at the Quai Des Orfevres 2014 Literary Prize event in Paris, France.
“This is no more, or less, than the story of a couple who are separating, like any other couple.”
The pair were named the most popular couple in France in a poll last year. The couple have no children together but have children from previous relationships.
Dujardin has two sons, Simon and Jules, with ex-wife Gaelle Dujardin and Lamy and her ex-husband Thomas Jouannet are parents to a daughter, Chloé.
