Rumours are rife this afternoon that Beyoncé and Jay Z could be headed for a trial separation.
According to reports the Single Ladies singer has hardly seen her husband lately, something which the rapper tried to resolve by organising a mini break for the pair while she was on tour in Australia.
A source told Star magazine: “Jay Z’s early November trip to Australia was not just a family getaway, it was a last-ditch effort to keep his marriage afloat.
“Jay Z’s decision to tour Europe at the same time as Beyoncé is touring Australia has caused serious damage to their relationship – damage that may be ultimately prove to be irreparable.”
They added: “She told him he was selfish. Beyoncé has been feeling like a single mother lately – and has been letting her husband know he’s on shaky ground, and she’s using the time they spend apart as a trial separation.”
Beyoncé and Jay Z tied the knot back in 2008. They welcomed their first child, daughter Blue Ivy, just last year.
Jay Z and Beyoncé have been married for five years and have a daughter together.
UPDATE (2.50pm): A source has just told HollywoodLife.com that Beyoncé and Jay Z’s five-year- marriage is “fine” and that the pair are not headed for a split.
The insider explained: “They are not thinking of a separation. They actually are trying to figure out how to hang out more. Their marriage is fine, they are working on getting together more for the holidays and nobody should expect a break up, separation or divorce.”
