Get Wrapped Up – Accessories For The Winter Season

Now that the cold spell has properly kicked in here's how to stay warm and stylish..

Cathy Donohue

November heralds the beginning of winter and this week had us searching high and low for our gloves, hats and scarves.

Stuffed at the back of wardrobes or at the very bottom of presses, chances are you will only be unable to unearth one glove or a crumpled hat.

Worse still they will probably be smelling extremely musty considering they have been neglected for nearly a year.

The good news here is that this gives you an excuse to buy new accessories for the cold spell ahead.

If you can’t afford a new winter wardrobe, investing in good quality accessories is a wise move, a pair of leather/ faux-leather gloves will last for more than one fashion season and they look good with pretty much everything.

A fedora hat is also a sensible buy which will quickly transform a simple outfit into a chic ensemble, both Penneys and River Island have a range of options in different shades and styles.

Staying warm and cosy is probably a high priority and a woolly beanie hat is the best way to go. Embellished and bejewelled, plain and patterned… there are multiple choices of hats on the high-street.

Scarves are the accessory item where you can have fun and express a little bit of your personality.

From leopard to floral, geometric to striped…. there literally is a scarf for everyone. Check River Island, New Look and Penneys for print heavy purchases.

If your style is classically elegant and print isn’t your thing, then are heaps of scarves in neutral shades to choose from.

It might be pretty pricey at €117, but the cashmere Warehouse number pictured in the gallery above is one of those items you will still be able to wear ten years from now.
