The 45-year-old is the latest celeb to fall victim to death hoaxes.

Dion appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Monday evening to promote her latest album, ironically titled ‘Love Me Back To Life’, putting to bed all of the rumours.

Both phoney hoaxes appeared via Facebook apps that asked users to click for further information.

Website About.com noted that these rogue apps are set up to access individual members’ profile information and reproduce the hoax on their friends pages.

The CNN elaborate hoax report read: “Hollywood Breaking News – R.I.P. Celine Dion. At about 11 a.m. ET on Sunday (October 20, 2013), Celine Dion died in a plane crash.”

Fox News suggested that the 45-year-old’s death was due to reckless driving.

“Investigators have told reporters that Celine Dion lost control while driving a friend’s vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing her instantly. The vehicle was believed to have been traveling at approximately 95 miles per hour in a 55mph zone at the time of the accident.”
