Cheryl Cole has turned the tables on her tattoo artist Nikki Hurtado, leaving him with a permanent reminder of her handiwork.
The singer kept her fans updated on her progress by posting a series of pictures on her Instagram account.
Alongside a picture of her clutching the tattoo pen, the ex-Girls Aloud singer wrote: ‘You learn something new everyday!!!.. #nikkohurtado.’

Commenting on the image of the final result – a pair of aviator sunglasses framed by two stars and a red heart with a squiggle – Cheryl captioned the photo: ‘I got to tag the best tattoo artist with my first and last tattoo @nikkohurtado designed bespoke by yours truly.
