Yes, Hemsworth had been around for quite a while and worked on various television shows but after his time spent on Home and Away as Kim Hyde, Chris landed a role in the new Star Trek and his career took off. Now, he is The Mighty Thor.
2. Isla Fisher
Isla played teen rebel Shannon Reed on the show until her departure from Australia landed her in the big time. Fisher is married to the one and only Sacha Baron Cohen and has starred in films including Now You See Me, The Great Gatsby and TV series Arrested Development.
3. Naomi Watts
Naomi played Julie Gibson for 19 episodes at Summer Bay. Now? She is an Oscar nominated actress who has worked on the likes of King Kong, The Impossible and Mulholland Drive.
4. Ryan Kwanten
Remember Vinnie from Home and Away? Well, now he is none other than Jason Stackhouse on True Blood.
5. Melissa George
Melissa did her time in Home and Away as one half of the series most popular couple, Angel. She promptly moved to the States where she worked on the likes of Friends, the Amityville Horror and 30 Days of Night.
6. Heath Ledger
Ledger worked on just nine episodes of Home and Away as Scott Irwin before moving on to 10 Things I Hate About You and slowly working his way towards that Oscar. Ledger was the best of this bunch.

Hard to believe that Pearce was one of the Summer Bay group, but Guy played David Croft in 18 episodes of Home and Away before winning roles in LA Confidential and Memento.
