The pair went missing in Glencoe, Scotland
The bodies of a father and son have sadly been found after they went missing in Glencoe, Scotland.
The pair were reported missing after they failed to return to their home in Cheshire yesterday, May 29th.
Tom Parry and his son Richie were on a hillwalking trip in Glencoe and Glen Navis but planned to return home on Wednesday.
Their disappearance sparked a major investigation but the search was called off following the discovery of two bodies.
The bodies have not yet been formally identified, but their family has been informed by police.
Police Scotland issued a statement following the harrowing discovery.
“Two bodies have been found during a search in Glencoe on the evening of Wednesday, 29 May 2024.
“They are yet to be formally identified. However, the family of father and son Tom Parry, 49, and Richie Parry, 12, from Cheshire, who had been reported missing in the area, have been made aware.
“Enquiries are ongoing but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
They discovered Tom Parry’s car in the Three Sisters car park in Glencoe.
It is believed the father and son stopped there to go hillwalking on Tuesday, May 28th but never returned.
Inspector Craig Johnstone has thanked volunteers for taking part in the search.
He stated, “Our thoughts are with all those involved. I would like to thank all emergency services and Mountain Rescue volunteers.”
