It’s called ‘Love Island’ for a reason, folks.
Last night, the Love Islanders engaged in a talent show of sorts.
There was keyboard playing, there was flat singing, and there was a rap. Britain’s Got Talent it was not, but hey, we’ve got to give these people some slack – they were clearly told about this segment of the show approximately two hours before it happened.
They were unprepared. As were we. The humble Love Island viewer was not ready for what their eyes feasted upon last night, especially given the sheer amount of arguing that had prefaced it.
Thankfully, the transition from intense fighting to talent was seamless and made perfect sense narratively. The only issues were the talents themselves, which is fair enough.
Who can blame these people for floundering? This is not what this show is about. It’s about love, it’s about harmony, it’s about… donning a polo neck and expressing your inner artiste.
Naturally, each of the talents warranted its own Twitter thread, but it was Faye’s that truly broke the feed – because she decided that her talent was being mean… so she did a roast of her fellow islanders.

Faye got up in front of her friends and did what she had pretty much done for the entire episode before that – laid into them.
And yeah, fair enough, Faye has some things to be angry about. She’s got beef with people, people who may deserve it, people who may need to hear it… during a talent show segment where she was swiftly followed by Millie rinsing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.

Some may argue that Faye did not understand the assignment. And maybe she didn’t. But then again, did anyone?

Laying into Tyler and Jake specifically, she called the former up on not making Kaz his girlfriend. She said:
“You don’t want to make her your girlfriend, but you want to make her exclusive? Is exclusive even a thing, really? I mean how you going to top it, but don’t worry, there’s one guy who can top it for you…. Jakey!”
Faye’s performance went down just as anyone expected it to. Not great.
