The child suffered fatal injuries and passed away in hospital earlier this year.
Gardaí investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a four year-old boy in Limerick have arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of murder.
The arrests took place today.
The man, who is in his 30s, and the woman, who is in her 20s, are being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Garda stations in Limerick city.
The four year old child had suffered fatal injuries at a property in Rathbane, Co. Limerick on Saturday March 13 2021. The boy was taken to Temple Street Children’s Hospital where he passed away on Tuesday March 16.
Since then, Gardaí have been investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
