Police found no evidence of foul play.

A woman was found dead in a sun bed in Austria this week by a salon client.

The body of the woman, in her 50s, was discovered in the shut tanning cubicle after two hours in a salon in Jennersdorf, Burgenland.

According to Austrian newspaper Kronen Zeitung, the woman had gone to the automated tanning salon at 2.30pm. She was later found dead at 4.45pm by another client who became suspicious when she noticed the bed was in use but could not hear any noise.

The tanning bed was pried open to reveal the body of the woman. Emergency services were called to the scene but she could not be revived.

Authorities found no evidence of foul play regarding the woman’s death. They also found no faults with the salon’s sun beds. The results of a toxicology report are pending.

“We express our deepest condolences to the relatives,” a spokesperson for the salon said.
