Matt Smith and Lily James have reportedly broken up after five years together.
The couple are said to have called time on their relationship a few months ago due to their hectic schedules.
“Things haven’t been right for a while, and a few months ago they decided to finally end it properly,” An insider told The Sun.
“It has been difficult because they have many mutual friends, so hopefully it will all stay civilised. But for now the relationship is formally off.”
The source added that their relationship had been “under strain” for a while, with the pair said to have been rowing about their busy schedules – which meant long periods of time apart.
The pair first sparked breakup rumours earlier this year, when Lily was absent from any of the photographs taken at The Crown actor’s 37th birthday in October.
Neither Matt or Lily have commented yet on the reports they have broken up. However, soon after the rumours emerged, the actors were spotted having lunch together in London.
The pair first got together in 2014, after working together on the movie Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
