Meet the 12 new Islanders heading into the Love Island villa

Keeley Ryan

It’s officially that time again, Love Island fans.

Yes, that’s right: Casa Amor is here.

The Love Island tradition basically guarantees drama, with the original villa being split into two – and the Islander couples being put to the ultimate test.

And here are the Islanders who are going to be heading into the villas.

Lavena Back

Age: 23

Job: Business Developer

The 23-year-old says she feels she’s the perfect Islander as she’s “confident and ready for love,” adding:

“I’ve been on my own for four years so whoever I meet in there I will fall for. I needed a while to get over my last relationship and really enjoy myself before I could commit to someone. But now I’m very much ready.”

As for who she has her eye on in the villa?

“I like Tom, Danny and Anton. If I had my pick, I’d probably go for Michael but I feel like he’s really coupled up. But Anton seems very funny so we would bounce off each other.”

Nabila Badda

Age: 29

Job: Hostess

Her perfect guy is someone who makes she she is “kept on my toes” and someone who “knows what he wants.

“He needs to be funny and we need to bounce off each other,” she added.

She also has her eye on Anton as she reckons he is “cheeky” and “misunderstood by the girls in the villa.”

Joanna Chimonides

Age: 22

Job: Recruitment Consultant

She says that she is the perfect Love Island contestant because of her “honesty” – even if “sometimes it gets me in trouble.”

“I like to say things as they are, there’s no game playing with me,” she continued.

And as for which of the Islanders she has her eye on during Casa Amor, she said:

“Anton and Tom. With Anton I find his personality so attractive and he’s got banter, so I think we’d connect.

“Tom is my type and what I usually go for looks-wise so I’m hoping his personality matches his good looks.”

Belle Hassan

Age: 21

Job: Makeup Artist

She says she “definitely” has her eye on Anton, as well as Tom and Tommy – and she isn’t worried too much about stepping on toes.

She said:

“Of course you never want to upset anyone but at the end of the day we’re all there to find someone we want to be with and if there is a connection there, then I will go for it.

“You have to do what you’ve got to do. Do I worry about treading on toes? I do and I don’t.”

Jourdan Riane

Age: 24

Job: Model/actress

Describing her perfect guy, she said:

“I would say the three biggest qualities I look for are someone that’s fun and has good banter, someone that is very family orientated and understanding that that is important, and someone that is spontaneous and likes to do random things. I like them keeping it fun and fresh.”

As for who she has her eye on?

“In no order, my three would be Michael, Danny and the new Tom. He is beautiful. I also like Jordan.”

Maria Wild

Age: 22

Job: VIP host

Discussing which of thee Islanders she has her sights set on, she said:

“Deep down, it is Anton but I just can’t stop thinking about when he went in and talked about having a wandering eye.

“When I first saw him, I was not attracted to him but now I’ve watched him and got to know him, he’s funny and sweet.”

And as for how far she is prepared to get what she wants, she continued:

“I wouldn’t upset anyone, put it that way. I’m not a Maura. My approach won’t be to really graft someone.

“I never graft anyone on the outside so I won’t go in there and be any different.”

Stevie Bradley

Age: 21

Job: Student

He has his eye on Lucie, as she “seems really sweet and down to earth” – although she’s not the only one he’s got his sights set on.

He continued:

“Arabella is beautiful, I couldn’t believe my eyes when she walked through the villa. Maura is also stunning. But Lucie would be my number one.”

Describing his perfect girl, he added;

“Someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously and is up for a good laugh. I want someone to go on dates with and have a good time with.”

Marvin Brooks

Age: 29

Job: Personal Trainer and ex Royal Navy Officer

On why he is the perfect Islander, he said:

“I am strongly opinionated and very competitive.

“I’ve always been good at sports and without sounding big headed I’ve always done OK with the opposite sex, so coming up against the other good looking lads will definitely test me.”

And as for who he has his eye on in the villa?

“It’s changed a few times because of how people have reacted to things. My type I’ve always said is brunette.

“Anna has definitely caught my eye but then recently Lucie has as I feel like she’s very similar to me in the sense that if she doesn’t want to hang around with a group she won’t force herself to do, which I’ve admired.

“I have also only seen a brief bit of Arabella but definitely her!

Dennon Lewis

Age: 22

Job: Professional Footballer

Describing his perfect girl, he said:

“She’s got to have some personality. I want someone that I can have a laugh with, bounce off and throw banter at each other.”

And while he has his eye on “quite a few of them”, there were two in particular that stood out: Lucie and Maura.

He said:

“I have my eye on quite a few of them – Lucie’s very nice. I do like how Maura is turning out to be. She’s really feisty and could be a handful.”

George Rains

Age: 22

Job: Builder

He says he has his eye on Amber and Anna, adding;

“Amber is my type, they are the sort of girls I’d go for looks-wise and Anna is really pretty and she’s got a nice body.”

He also says he wants someone who “is a match to me”, and is positive, outgoing and who he can connect with.

Dan Rose

Age: 21

Job: Bathroom salesman

The reason he feels he’s the perfect Love Island contestant comes down to three simple things: “I’m a cheeky lad, I’m confident and I reckon I’ve got the gift of the gab.”

As for who he has his eye on in the villa, he said:

“I do fancy Amber but I know she seems loved up with Michael. I’ll test the water with it though. Then I’ll probably go for Lucie and Maura.”

Ovie Soko

Age: 28

Job: Pro Basketball Player

With his sights set on Anna (he says she’s “consistently been on my radar” since the start), he says he’s not worried about treading on any toes in the villa.

He added:

“Treading on toes? Is there any such thing in Love Island? People are going to be put in tough spots on this show.

“I’m not worried, I’m not going to be disrespectful, I’m confident I bring enough to the table.”

  • Love Island airs at 9pm on Virgin Media Two
