This would be brutal.
It’s one of the most popular shows in the world – which means that, unfortunately for the Game of Thrones show runners, everyone wants to know what’s going to happen next.
Especially since there’s an almost two-year wait wait between seasons 7 and 8.
It had previously been reported that they were going to some pretty big extremes to keep the details of the final season under wraps.
There have been set photos that have revealed some of what to expect in season 8, but fans still want more – which has led to some very convincing theories doing the rounds lately.
The latest one involves the fate of Cersei Lannister/The Mad Queen and her unborn child. And…well, it kind of makes sense. Even if it is very grim.
According to the theory, which was posted on Reddit, Cersei and her unborn child may be doomed if the pattern of deaths after the Red Wedding continues on.
The Redditor posted:
“Roose Bolton died by being stabbed in the chest in the same way as Robb Stark. Walder Frey died by having his throat cut the same way they killed Catelyn.
“Robb Stark, Catelyn Stark and there is 1 Stark left, Talisa. Talisa died by being stabbed in the stomach while pregnant.
“3 Houses arranged the Red Wedding, Bolton, Frey and Lannister.
“1.House Frey: Walder Frey
“2.House Bolton: Roose Bolton
“3.House Lannisters: Cersei Lannister dying by a stab in the stomach while pregnant would mirror Talisa Stark.”
Many fans believe that Jamie is the one who is going to be fulfilling the prophecy with Cersei – the one about how she will have three children, but they will all die and the Valonqar (which means ‘little brother’ in Valyrian) will be the one to kill her.
Since Cersei was born first, Jamie is also her little brother…as well as her twin and possible baby daddy (for the fourth time).
With Jamie and Cersei likely on opposite sides of the battle field in season 8, it could end up being some dark and tragic poetic justice for him to be the one who kills her – especially as he doesn’t seem to believe she is actually pregnant.
Like we said, it’s grim.
