Seriously?
Love Island might look like great craic, chilling by the pool, meeting new pals and sure the odd romance too but apparently, it’s a lot more serious than it appears.
There’s a lot of chat about the producers this season, decisions made to edit certain scenes etc and with the viewership figures majorly increasing this season, people want to know everything about the villa and the contestants staying there.
A former contestant has now spoken out and if you’re a longtime Love Island fan, you’ll remember Zara Holland from the 2016 series.

Chatting to BBC, Zara said that the show is more planned that people might think.
“You’re not really allowed to wear a swimming costume as such. You have to get ready and do your hair and make-up”.
Zara also said that wearing makeup is a requirement and that two producers live with the contestants and help them get ready for each show.
“It was just like being in a posh prison really, you have two producers that live in the villa with you 24/7”.
“So every day we would have talks with them. And they would ask how you’re feeling, sort of who you think are the best couples”.
She also said that they would be told what to talk about and that it was so “controlled”.
The Miss Great Britain winner was stripped of the title after having sex with fellow contestant Alex Bowen on the show.
“If you do something on the show whatever that might be, that is never going to leave you. With social media, it’s always going to haunt you”.
Zara also said that she was trolled online after leaving the villa, receiving nasty messages. She has since attended sessions with a psychologist and a psychiatrist.
