Well, this is awkward.
Love Island fans are calling out Dr. Alex for lying to his partner Alexandra Cane about the reason he wanted to become a doctor.
Last night’s episode saw the pair partner up officially, with Idris Virgo and Kieran Nicholls being sent home.
And the spark between Alex and Alex was quite cute and all, as they spent the episode mostly sitting down in various areas of the garden and getting to know each other.
One of the conversations, though, began to leave viewers seriously confused.
The new couple were sitting on the swing when Alexandra asked him what inspired him to become a doctor.
He replied:
“It was from watching 24 Hours In A&E. I was 14 when it first started and I just loved it.”
Eagle-eyed (and eared) Love Island viewers were quick to notice a problem with his statement.
The doctor is 27 years old,and 24 Hours in A&E debuted in 2011 – which would have made him 20 or 21 when it first started, not 14
By this point, he would have already begun his training to become a doctor. So fans were pretty confused by his statement.
Why’s Alex lying? Saying he wanted to be a doctor after watching 24 Hours in A&E when he was 13 or 14…it wasn’t even on tv then! #LoveIsland

Dr Alex claims that 24 Hours In A&E helped inspire him to become a doctor. But that show began transmission in 2012, when Alex was… 21? 22? #loveisland

#Loveisland Alex said he wanted to be a doctor after watching 24Hours in A&E when he was 14… he’s 27 now and that show was on from 2011 … 😕🤨🧐

#LoveIsland how did 24 hours in A&E get 13 year old Alex interested in Medicine when it’s only been around for a couple years?? He’s 27!
