11 things that we know about Rosie Connolly’s May 19 wedding

She marries in less than three weeks.

Last year, we had SoSueMe.

Suffice-to-say it was a delightfully OTT affair – and one which was total #weddinggoals.

This year, we have Rosie Connolly… who says ‘I do,’ to her long-term beau, Paul Quinn, on May 19.

The duo have been together since 2013, engaged since June 2015, have a toddler son together, and are definitely head-over-heels in love.

Here’s what we can expect from their Big Day.

1) Location

The pair will marry at the fab Carton House in Kildare – on the same day that Harry and Meghan will be exchanging vows at Windsor Castle (although Rosie and Paul secured the date before the British royals announced theirs!).

2) Guests

Plenty of well-known social media names and faces will there: Michele McGrath, James Patrice, Niamh Cullen, Lauren Arthurs, Louise Cooney, and Carol Byrne. So we definitely expect the style to be gloriously Instagrammable.

3) Bridesmaids

Rosie is the youngest of three girls and her sisters, Fiona and Ciara, will be on-hand as bridesmaids. No word yet on what dresses they’ve gone for, but they’ve had practise: when their mum, Anna, married their stepdad, Billy Sullivan, at Clontarf Castle in 2010, all three Connolly sisters were bridesmaids.

4) Stars of the show

The couple’s toddler son, Harry, as well as Paul’s son, Reuben, aged five, will understandably feature prominently during the ceremony and reception. Indeed, three-year-old Harry regularly crops-up on his mum’s social media and is a total cutie. Rosie’s nieces and nephews (Fiona has three children and Ciara has two) will furthermore all be there.

5) The ceremony

The bride-to-be previously told VIP magazine that she wants her wedding to be “laid back with a little bit of glamour”. She’s enlisted the assistance of wedding events-planner Frog Prince so everything runs smoothly. “It’s all about the candles, flowers and lighting for me,” she said earlier this year.

6) Her dad

Sadly, Rosie’s father, Peter, died when she was a teenager, so her stepfather, Billy, will walk her up the aisle. Peter will also be represented at key moments in the ceremony – including the placing of a photograph of him at the altar. “My uncle, dad’s brother, will be there too, which I’m delighted about because he’s my closest link to him now,” Rosie told VIP magazine recently.

7) Wedding favours

Rosie and Paul are shunning traditional wedding favours in lieu of something more impactful: “I hope to do something with the wedding favours with regard to the RNLI, because dad drowned and they were fantastic, so I’d like to give back to them in some way,” Rosie previously revealed.

8) Photographer

Snapper-to-the-stars Jenny McCarthy – she’s captured brides Suzanne Jackson and Glenda Gilson on their Big Days – will be on-hand to record the day perfectly.

9) The Dress

Apparently Rosie travelled to Barcelona to get her dress – but left Spain empty-handed when she just didn’t find the perfect piece. Instead, the blogger managed to source her dream look from Padanee Bridal in Carrick-on-Shannon. We can’t wait to see it!

10) Added extras

The couple will mark their union by planting a tree on the hotel grounds along with a personalised plaque. They’re also holding a BBQ the following day – May 20 – before jetting off on their beach honeymoon.

11) Magazine deal

Just like Suzanne Jackson, Rosie has teamed up with VIP magazine for the Big Day – giving fans a perfect glimpse of their nuptials. Yas!
